Indian Head
Massage
Indian Head Massage
is a treatment that is an important feature of Indian family life,
Indian Head Massage as we know it has evolved from traditional techniques
that have been practiced as part of a family ritual for over a thousand
years. I.H.M as practiced has been westernised and also incorporates
modern western techniques.
Indian Head Massage is a massage therapy that works specifically
on the area surrounding the head: scalp and face, neck and extending
to the shoulders and upper back.
Indian Head Massage is suitable for most people, there are however
certain conditions where it should be avoided. To ensure the continued
well-being of clients, all treatments begin with a consultation,
which enables your therapist to make sure this is the right treatment
for you. In some instances your doctors permission may be required
before treatment can proceed.
Indian Head Massage usually lasts for approximately 45 minutes although
the treatment can be shortened if it takes place in the workplace.
The treatment has many advantages in that it is
Non-invasive; the client can remain fully clothed if he/she chooses
Relatively quick to perform
No special resources are needed
Special needs clients may receive treatments with minimum fuss.
Oils are optional in I.H.M. If oil is preferred, upper clothing
can be removed and a large modesty towel applied.
It can be said that Indian Head Massage is a truly holistic therapy
in that it has many psychological benefits; clients comment that
they feel their whole body is balanced after the treatment.

Hopi Ear Candling
The practice of ear candling
is becoming increasingley widespread and candles are now available
for purchase in many health shops.
It is important to advise
clients never to self administer due to the risk of falling asleep,
and therefore the risk of fire danger. It is also usefel to follow
a treatment with massage to enhance the effect of the candles.
How the candles
work
Firstly, I would like
to make a point of telling you that the wax that is often found
in the candle at the end of a session is NOT ear wax. The ammount
of suction created during a treatment is no where near enough to
draw wax from the ear canal, the wax in the candle is beeswax.
If the thought of having a lighted candle placed in your ear sounds
alarming - dont worry!!! These are not ordinary candles they are
hollow cotton tubes impregnated with beeswax and herbs.
This is a wondeful relaxing experience, lying on your side each
ear is treated in turn, a face massage completes the treatment.
Only the best quality
Biosun candles are used.
As the candle burns, the various ingreadients vapourise and are
drawn down thw candle by gentle convection (chimney effect) The
ingredients burn more or less efficiantly according to the state
of congestion of the ear canal, the burning efficiency will in turn
determine the ammount of wax and powder left in the candle at the
end of the treatment.
Ear wax may be softend and loosend by the action of the candles,
and may work its way out of the ear in the 48hours or so following
treatment. This may cause a temporary slight deafness, but is nothing
to worry about.
Action of the Candles
- Softening ear wax
- Protection-- antibacterial
- Increasing blood
flow to the ears
- Relaxing and soothing
Conditions that may
be helped by Candling

- Snoring

TSUBOKI ® Japanese
Face Massage
A massage that works
on many levels, health and beauty are intertwined.
The face is a complex network of muscles that are used constantly.
Smiling, chewing, laughing speaking, yawning all cause facial muscles
to contract, eventually they begin to collect tension, just like
any other muscles in the body.
The great thing about Japanese face massage is that it can improve
the appearence of the face by working both the surface and deep
musculature, as well as the skin, hey presto! a natural facelift!
Japanese face massage is a combination of Anma techniques ( the
original traditional Japanese massage) which means rubbing, and
also Acupressure techniques, which concentrate on specific acupressure
points, or tsubos, on the face
